For a number of years we have had a strategic cooperation with local schools and universities. We in STX OSV find it important to develop awareness of who we are and what we do, already from young age. As an example, we sometimes invite kindergartens to our yards. We are also committed to local schools (pupils aged 6-19) where we can facilitate learning processes through involvement in school projects, practical learning situations, apprenticeships and as invited guest speakers/teachers. Sometimes our educational commitments also involve funding.
Together with schools and other educational institutions, we have developed new courses, i.e. within international business and technical subjects. At university/college level, we have developed a master program in cooperation with the University College of Aalesund.
In September 2010, we announced that we will co-sponsor a professorship at the University College of Aalesund. The position will focus on environmentally responsible business practices and technologies.
